My Needs and the Needs Board
Benefits · For everyone · Updated Oct 20, 2026 · 2 min read
ICAA members build and buy automation together. Two places carry what a district needs: its own list, and the board every member can read.
My Needs
Any user of a district records a need on My Needs in the district workspace: what the district is trying to do, for whom and by when. The district's Licensed Hub reads and works the list on its Needs & Reports page, and ICAA does when the district has no active hub. A need stays open until it is addressed; the district can change or delete it while it is open, and a hub can link it to the product or project that addresses it.
Hubs collect the needs of their districts into the monthly pipeline summary and the quarterly prioritized needs report they send ICAA, so a need recorded here reaches the people who decide what gets built.
The Needs Board
The Needs Board is read by every member: districts, hubs and vendors. A district publishes a need there when it wants help from beyond its hub; other members answer with what they have done, a product on the App Store or an offer to work on it together. A need the district has resolved can be marked addressed, and what helped is linked to it for the next district with the same problem.
Good needs
Describe the problem and the outcome, not a product: "re-key enrollment forms into the student information system every August" says more than "an integration". Never put student records or other personal information in a need; a need is read by other organizations.
